Here's a great story on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge and the work going on to adapt to sea level rise.  Wetlands Watch was involved in some of the story and I have some quotes in it.

Alligator River NWF is where a lot of early work on sea level rise started.  In low-lying Dare County, NC, the refuge has been losing acreage for years and The Nature Conservancy started figuring out how to slow sea level rise impacts there.
