I was born and raised on a farm in the very small town
of Caldwell, Ohio. I have spent countless hours outdoors
doing manual labor and enjoying what Mother Nature has
to offer. From this, I have grown to appreciate the environment,
which has helped guide me to where I am today.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental
Geography at Ohio University, to learn what I could do
to help with the changing times, and how this was effecting
the environment through people’s actions. Currently,
I have plans to get my Masters in Biotechnology from
ODU.
After college, I began working with Americorps VISTA
(Volunteer in Service to America) for Friends of the
Lower Muskingum River, as their watershed coordinator.
One of my main duties was to develop plans on sparking
community interest and involvement to help preserve the
river’s water quality. I also conducted water
quality monitoring and education programs for kids. I
then moved to New Jersey and started working for Weston
Solutions, as a field scientist for the hazardous waste
and emergency response team.
Currently, I work for Applied Service and Information
Systems, LLC dedicated to the Fort Eustis Environmental
Restoration Department. I clean up past and present contamination
from hazardous releases, taking the site from investigation
phases to Records of Decision, through the CERCLA process.
I joined Wetland Watch, Inc. because I want to continue
to help preserve the environment outside of my duties at
Fort Eustis. |
