Joey Adams
Flood Resilience Summer Intern
Hello! My name is Joey Adams, and I’m excited to join the Wetlands Watch team. I was raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and I’m an undergraduate senior at Old Dominion University, where I study English with a concentration in applied language studies. I also have minors in sustainability and conservation leadership and mathematics, with a concentration in statistics and biostatistics.
I enjoy using data analysis to support environmental sustainability and environmental justice. Being outside is one of my greatest pleasures, and I believe people and the environment are deeply connected. I’m especially interested in how environmental health affects human health, and how communities can adapt to changing environmental conditions.
At Old Dominion University, I look forward to studying environmental statistics, environmental policy, environmental ethics, environmental justice, and sustainability leadership. I’m excited for this opportunity to learn more about community adaptation, flood resilience, and the practical work needed to support a more sustainable and just future.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, drawing, going on nature walks, learning foreign languages, and spending time with my friends and family.
