Megan Mullaney

Intern

My name is Megan Mullaney, and I’m so excited to join the Wetlands Watch team! I’m from Charlotte, NC, and I am a sophomore majoring in Environmental Science at UNC Chapel Hill. I’m currently participating in UNC’s Outer Banks Field Site program in Manteo at the Coastal Studies Institute. I’ve always loved spending time on the OBX, and I’m excited to get to learn more about the natural systems in the area.

I really enjoy spending time outside, and over time that has grown into a passion for understanding how people and the environment shape one another. At UNC, I’m looking forward to studying environmental policy, sustainability, and coastal systems, and I’m especially interested in how communities can become more resilient in the face of climate change. I’m excited to learn from this experience and contribute to community adaptation efforts.

Outside of work, I love reading, going to the gym, and spending time with my pet rabbit, Bono.
