Catch the King Assistant

Living in coastal Virginia my whole life has given me the chance to explore natural spaces I would call second to none, but also see the struggles that coastal communities now have to navigate in their everyday lives firsthand. In 2025, I served as an intern for Measure the Muck and had the opportunity to learn more about how tidal flooding affects our water quality and communities in coastal Virginia. This experience opened my eyes to how inspiring it can be to bring a community together toward a shared vision of protecting and caring for the land we live with. During my time as a student at Old Dominion University, I had the opportunity to attend the Virginia Land Conservation and Greenways Conference and the Chesapeake Community Research Symposium. Both of these conferences strengthened my professional knowledge related to current environmental initiatives taking place in Virginia, conservation, ways to protect and enhance our green spaces, and ongoing research related to life in the Chesapeake Bay watershed.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in environmental science from Old Dominion University in May 2025, and I am excited to find new ways I can give back and serve both this land we all love and the people who call it home. Wetlands Watch embodies what I hope to build my professional career on - protecting and creating a space where both people and planet can thrive - and I am excited to use my experiences towards that shared vision while working at Wetlands Watch!
