Perry Verge

Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) Virginia Coordinator

Perry is fascinated by the ways natural and built systems meet in everyday life—how streets, soils, vegetation, and stormwater patterns shape whether a place is safe, comfortable, and worth caring about. He joined Wetlands Watch because he wants to help make the places people live not only more resilient to flooding, but also more pleasant to move through and spend time in. He is particularly interested in how multifunctional green infrastructure can address stormwater issues while also improving the quality of life for members of the community. Perry is drawn to the Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) program because the work depends on collective capacity: no single person can deliver the scale of change needed, but a trained practitioner network can support consistent best practices across projects and communities.

Perry serves as Wetlands Watch’s Chesapeake Bay Landscape Professional (CBLP) Virginia Coordinator. He holds a B.A. in Chemistry and a minor in Environmental Studies from St. Mary’s College of Maryland, and he has early career experience in process-driven environments where precision and documentation are daily practice, including fermentation and laboratory roles at Martinelli Winery in Windsor, California. He is currently completing a Tidewater Community College certificate program in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and has also completed ESRI training in cartography and imagery.
